![]() a 1200/1250 hopup kit), get the bike on a dyno with a proper tuner (both the machine and the man running the dyno). If you are only doing intake and exhaust, you will be fine. Ensure that you are getting a system that will keep your O2 sensors in place. i am going with the SEPST for my tuning and dyno needs. once i got into bigger/higher performance mods, i would switch to either a complete wipe of my stock ECU or using the SEPST. Get a piggy back tuner (like what you are talking about) and make my small modifications with that (intake and exhaust). Here is what my plan (and what i'm doing) was. #Vance and hines fyels pack bime runs hot full#bypassing the O2 sensors puts your bike at a disadvantage as you are not making full use of what the EFI is supposed to be doing. this does allow you the ability to use your O2 sensors, and HD will send software updates and ECU patches as needed.īottom line, your ECU is the brains of your machine and is something you dont want to go cheap on. i cannot remember if this unit completely replaces your stock ecu or not. ![]() The absolute best option (from my research) is to use the HD screaming eagle pro super tuner. this will provide the dealership the ability to load their maps for your machine/aftermarket mods. The next best to use the HD screaming eagle street tuner. you can even have different tunes loaded for different riding profiles. this keeps everything in place and you are able to adjust your tune as you ride. this will allow you to actually overwrite the tune that is in your stock ecu. The next best option is to use something like the the dynojet power vision. I’ve tried using my home WiFi / wireless connection without any success I’ve literally gone as close as possible to the fuel pack for the best possible chance of connection with no success. First forward a week later - the Bluetooth disconnects after 2 seconds. this will provide feedback to the tuner and allow for real time adjustments of your tune. I have to say, I was happy to program my new V&H SS exhaust. ![]() if you are going to use them, make sure that you get a system that will use the O2 sensors. they will get you into the ball park on where you want to be. Piggy back tuners (V&H, Power Commanders, etc) are 'ok'. Ok, i'm doing some serious motor work right now and as such, i have researched the shit out of this topic. ![]()
